Programs

In our Teaching Voice in Literacy Instruction survey, 96% of respondents reported that they wanted a step-by-step program to teach reading and spelling.  While we don't want teaching programs to drive instruction in our schools, they do support teacher cognitive load and help you bring consistency to your school.  Jocelyn Seamer Education publishes two programs:

Reading Success in Action

An explicit phonics program to teach phonics, decoding and early spelling to students in the beginning phases of literacy development.  Reading Success in Action allows you to use your choice of decodable texts while establishing consistent, structured and cumulative instruction.

Spelling Success in Action

Once students have developed the foundations of phonics, it is time to move them on to learning about morphology, the meaningful parts of words. Spelling Success in Actions provides all the guidance that teachers need to help their students build strong spelling knowledge.
